“Iconic” is overused nowadays, but Chicago’s rooftop water tanks likely are just that. Often precarious, sometimes dangerous and even deadly, they appear on several of the city’s older buildings. I think this is the only photo I’ve taken of one (from a car) — a Chicago water tank featuring the Chicago city flag design. Iconic.
