Ears askew
I haven’t gotten new glasses in three years because I haven’t had any problems, but recently I decided to because I didn’t like the frames, and the lenses were losing the coating and getting scratched. Plus, it was time.
And once again the new glasses are crooked. They feel crooked and look crooked.
And once again I have enough confidence in the optician to think it’s not really him.
So, at age 44, it finally occurred to me — my ears are uneven. My left ear is a bit above the right. Not noticeably, but enough to make glasses feel and look just a bit askew. I think it gives me headaches.
And then I remember this entry, “I am an owl,” only I didn’t think I meant it quite so literally.
I like the new glasses better; the thinner frames are more feminine. The lenses keep getting thinner and thinner (therefore, lighter and lighter), so they are more comfortable. Not to mention expensive. Ah, well. At least I can still see. For now.
